Blog post No. 10 - Writing class

The writing class has been essential to improve my writing skills. When this class started my writing expertise was very poor. From first blog to the last one I felt that every post was better than the previous one. And that was always with the teachers help and feedback. The post that I liked most was the number 4 and 5 because I could express my opinion and my anger since the video that Miss Neha showed did not reflect the reality of our country in relation to health and also the class that I love was when we discuss about this issue. Use blogs in this class was very helpful, I think it was the best way to check writing because it involves many things like personal opinión, specific knowledge and make comments, and the use of paragraphs in this posts was really useful. My experience in writing class was really good because I learned a lot, but sometimes  I did not pay attention and I was distract with the computer and my classmates, but that did not affect my learning. My improvement in writing has been a lot and it feels awesome. In the first classes, Miss Neha told me that I had a lot of mistakes and with the time her comments were getting better. In the future, I would like to include more ways to learn English, more didactic way so the students do not get bored. Some topic that I want to write about will be the social problems that we have, for example, the teachers strike. I could take more advantage of the  writing classes but despite this, it was very important and it will be useful for my future.

Blog Post No. 6 Global environmental issues

Water pollution

Water pollution is the contamination of natural water bodies by chemical, physical and radioactive substances. The negative alteration of water quality presently produces large scale illness and deaths.

There are many causes and effects of this environmental issue. Sewage from domestic households, factories and commercial buildings are a big part of this problem. Sewage that is treated in water treatment plants is often disposed into the sea. Oil pollution caused by oil spills from tankers and oil from ship travel represent the most pollution in our coast. Oil does not dissolve in water and forms a thick sludge. The worst effect of this problem is the groundwater contamination from pesticides that causes reproductive damage within wildlife in ecosystems.

Some things we can do to fix this issue are very simple. Do not throw chemicals, oils, paints and medicines down the sink drain, or the toilet. Never throw rubbish away anyhow. Always look for the correct waste bin. Use water wisely. Do not keep the tap running when it’s not in use. If we all do this things, we can significantly prevent water lacks and reduce the amount of dirty water that needs treatment.

Water pollution is one of worst environmental issue. It is produce by us and we are the only people who can fix this.

Blog Post No. 4 and 5 - Health insurance in Chile

The health system in Chile is not good for everyone. This system only cares about the people who have the money to pay for it.

The care in public hospitals is completely lacking. People have to wait hours to be treated. When hospitals are overwhelmed which is most of the time, people are treated in the corridors. Sometimes even doctors at the hospital emergency. The working staff of these places treat people like animals. Attention in hospitals is certainly not good and it is getting worse.

Only if you have the money you will receive a quality health care. In clinics, you receive spectacular attention. You do not have to wait for anything to be seen. It is never crowded and the people who work there are very friendly and helpful. The differences between people who have Isapre or Fonasa are simply gigantic.

Why people who have no money can not receive the same treatment as people that have the resources?. The government must change the health system radically.

Blog Post No 3- Paragraph Writing Assessment

Music is my life

Music is a very important part of my life. Since I was a child music has been present in my life because my grandparents are musicians. I started to listen music when I was 10 years old with a Discman. In this object I listened discs of Marc Anthony. Then I moved to the mp3 in which only had 10 songs. After that my mother bought me a mp4 in which I had songs of a lot of styles. As you can see music has been part of my life since I was born.

I like all kinds of music because if it makes you happy that is enough for me. But that doesn’t mean that I listen all of it. My favorite types of music are EDM, dubstep, hardstyle and rock but not the heavy. I also started two months ago a beginner course to become a DJ. To me if the music that you listen improve your mood that is the only thing that matter.

Blog Post No. 2 - Free Theme

I love Chilean traditions

The most popular Chilean tradition is the Fiestas Patrias, which are held on September 18 and 19 to commemorate the First Assembly of Government in 1810. Its Fonda and Ramada parties offer traditional food including empanadas, chicha and wine. In that places, people dance cueca and cumbia. Every house in Chile must have a Chilean flag raised. That is what it make it the  biggest traditional celebration in our country.

Another Chilean tradition is to celebrate the Fiesta de la Tirana. This festivity takes place in the northern of Chile, especially in a small town called La Tirana, near the city of Iquique. It takes place from June 12 to 17 each year where dancers and musicians dance to the diablada or the dance of the devils. The dance crew wear fearsome costumes and masks. All this is done to pay homage to the Virgen del Carmen, When I was there 3 years ago I Understood how great is it and why tens of Thousands of people participate each year.
